Roche
Antimicrobial stewardship tool
Challenge
Overuse of antibiotics in healthcare has led to their declining efficacy and the rise in “superbugs” that are resistant to a wide-spectrum of antibiotics.
This has resulted in a drastic increase of scenarios where patients are unresponsive to the available antibiotic treatment protocols, resulting in increased patient morbidity or enhanced patient mortality.
Roche was seeking to create a tool that compiles hospital data, analyzes it and provides insights relative to antibiotic usage, accessible by multiple constituents providing real-time collaboration that will enable more informed decisions.
My role
I was brought to this project to be part of the research team and was in charge of leading the research for Europe:
writing interview scripts, running interviews, creating frameworks for synthesis and synthesizing the materials.
Discover
I created this framework in order to collect data from EU and US in the same document and simplify research synthesis
Postcard from the field: a daily digital postcard to the clients to help them follow the research and understand our progresses.
We ran qualitative research in a form of interviews as well as a journey exercise in order to understand the current workflows, emotions and pain points of our audience.
DeSCRIBE
User shrine and workflow map
In order to synthesis our research we created user shrines for every user type where we would list their main actions to understand their responsibilities, quotes to bring the human voice and give life to our synthesis process, the tools they use and pain points to help identify design opportunities.
We also did a workflow map to help us and the client understand the as-is process and identify gaps and design opportunities.
Part of the deliverables: digitized user shrines
